Science Intelligence
In a complex, rapidly changing world, where more countries take leading positions in science and innovation, it is increasingly important to understand global developments through expert trend analysis and strategic on-site relationship building.
STINT has established a team of academic representatives in selected regions of the world to support the development of strategic initiatives at Swedish higher education institutions and offer them relevant international perspectives. Through these representatives’ expertise and local presence STINT contributes to deeper insight into research policy trends, the development of science ecosystems as well as strategic opportunities for cooperation. This initiative also comprises science diplomacy, with STINT acting as a resource for Swedish actors by promoting dialogue and trust-building in the international knowledge system.
Science Intelligence, in STINT’s usage, refers to proactive, evidence-based trend analysis conducted on-site abroad, with the aim of supporting the strategic internationalisation of Swedish higher education institutions. Through the early identification of research and higher education trends, STINT contributes to strengthening Swedish higher education and research.
As an independent foundation STINT has developed methods that combine analytical skills with deep understanding and long-term relationship building in various parts of the world. STINT’s representatives abroad hold doctorates and have conducted research in Sweden, but also have long experience in their regions, thus giving them a unique understanding of both local and Swedish research and higher education conditions. They are therefore able to interpret shifts in the international academic landscape, identify new risks and opportunities as well as contribute to further strategic internationalisation.
Long-term, trust-based on-site relationship building ensures that Science Intelligence supports well-founded, effective strategic decisions.
