JSPS Summer Program
STINT, The Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education, awards in collaboration with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) scholarships for research stays in Japan. The JSPS Summer Program is open for research in all fields of the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences.
JSPS Summer Program 2026 gives Master’s and PhD students as well as recently graduated doctors a possibility to receive an orientation on Japanese culture and research systems during two summer months. Candidates are selected based on their potential contribution to strengthened research collaboration between Japan and Sweden.

Applications must be submitted through our application system. Complete the JSPS application form, available [here], and then upload it to the system. The application deadline is January 4, 2026.
If you are awarded a JSPS fellowship, you will also be eligible to receive a grant through the Capstone Awards Programme. Further information about Capstone will be provided to all JSPS fellowship recipients.
