Pre-Graduate Award

The Singapore International Pre-Graduate Award (SIPGA) supports short-term research attachments at A*STAR Research Institutes (RIs) for senior undergraduates or Master international students for 2 to 6 months. It provides students an opportunity to experience conducting research in a vibrant scientific environment with distinguished and world-renowned researchers at A*STAR labs in Singapore.

Award Terms

  • Monthly stipend of SGD 1,500, up to maximum of 6 months
  • Research attachment periods may vary from 2 to 6 months

Open for applications by international students in Biomedical, Science and Engineering related disciplines who are undergraduate students in their third or fourth year, or Master students

The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive. A*STAR may include additional selection criteria based on prevailing scholarship policies. These policies may be amended from time to time without notice.

Application Procedures
Interested students can browse through A*STAR RIs and Consortia for attachment opportunities. Students are to approach the coordinators of the RI of choice directly for attachment opportunities.

The RI coordinator would request for the following documents to be submitted:

  1. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  2. English-Translated Transcripts of Bachelor and Master Studies (If any)
  3. Copy of Degree scrolls of Bachelor and Master Studies(If any)
  4. Copy of Identity Certificate/ Passport
  5. Recommendation letter (If any)
  6. Period of attachment

Once the student is awarded, he/she may begin the attachment at the A*STAR Research Institute. More information about the program could be found in the following website:
