STINT and CONICYT have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen scientific exchange and collaboration between Chile and Sweden<\/b><\/p>\n
STINT Executive Director Andreas G\u00f6thenberg says: \u201cOur mission is to promote internationalisation of higher education and research. This agreement and the joint programme that we will launch this June will support mobility and collaboration between Sweden and Chile. Chile is growing rapidly in research and there are many strong links between the countries. With this agreement we hope to further strengthen the links by contributing to strong win-win research partnerships.\u201d<\/p>\n
The agreement will take effect during 2018. As a result, researchers working in Chile and in Sweden will be eligible to participate in bilateral programme and activities. From this June, they will be able to apply for co-funding for mobility in joint research projects in all areas of knowledge to take place starting 2019.<\/p>\n
International collaboration beyond national borders is a vital component of successful research and innovation. This partnership will encourage and facilitate stronger interactions between researchers in Sweden with their counterparts in Chile.<\/p>\n
The President of CONICYT Council, Mario Hamuy, says: \u201cThe research collaboration between Chile and Sweden has increased significantly in the last decade. In this context, signing this agreement enabling Chilean and Swedish researchers to access the co-funded programme and activities is a great opportunity for stronger partnerships. It will help our researchers to continue generating cutting-edge knowledge and to interact with outstanding researchers in Sweden.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cEnlarged interaction between scientists in Chile and Sweden will support the formation of strong networks and collaborative activities,\u201d adds Hamuy. \u201cWe look forward to see this collaboration unfold\u201d.<\/p>\n
