<\/a>At this webinar, Dr Laura Barbieri, postdoctoral researcher for the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and STINT Affiliated Analyst in Japan, will guide you through a recently published STINT Outlook report on navigating Japan\u2019s public research funding system.<\/strong><\/p>\nThe report provides an overview of Japan\u2019s science, technology, and innovation (STI) sector, highlighting the key mechanisms and bodies shaping the country\u2019s R&D strategy. It covers the economic and geopolitical context, STI policy development, and the strong research areas and infrastructures that have emerged in Japan. Additionally, it outlines Japan\u2019s research funding system, with a focus on opportunities for the international scientific community, particularly researchers based in Sweden.<\/p>\n

The Grants Navigator for Japan <\/em>(available at the STINT webpage https:\/\/www.stint.se\/en\/grants_navi_jp<\/a>), an online tool listing all available funding programmes for international researchers, including deadlines and eligibility criteria, will be showcased.<\/p>\n This report and webinar are designed to provide Swedish higher education institutions and potential future researchers in Japan with essential insights into the national current R&D trends and the public sector\u2019s strategies for research and innovation.<\/p>\n The aim is to generate interest in and increase knowledge of the Japanese higher education and research environments, to promote researchers\u2019 mobility and opportunities for international collaboration between Sweden and Japan.
