Publicerad 2015-12-22

STINT inbjuder till lunchseminarium den 19 januari, kl. 11:45-12:45

Essential Actions to Strategic and Comprehensive Internationalization
Prof. John K. Hudzik, Michigan State University, NAFSA Senior Scholar for Internationalization
World Trade Center, Klarabergsviadukten 70, Stockholm

What is comprehensive and strategic higher education internationalization?  Why is it an imperative for every higher education institution?  What are the key steps in making it a reality?

In answering these questions, discussion will emphasize that every higher education institution must develop its own internationalization pathway to fit the particular institution—there is not just one way but rather many.  A common set of action steps will be listed for success but these action steps must also fit the capabilities and priorities of the particular institution.  A guide to set priorities to either start or expand internationalization will be outlined.

Prof. JOHN K. HUDZIK:  Michigan State University, NAFSA Senior Scholar for Internationalization, past President of AIEA (the Association of International Education Administrators) and past President and Chair of the Board of NAFSA—Association of International Educators. From 1995 to 2010 he was MSU Dean of International Studies and Programs and then Vice President for Global Engagement and Strategic Projects. He was MSU Acting University Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs in 2005.  He serves on numerous international policy and advisory boards and publishes frequently on higher education internationalization, including his recent book, Comprehensive Internationalization:  Institutional Pathways to Success (Routledge, 2015).  He is a frequently invited speaker at global conferences and lead consultant for institutional strategic planning for internationalization.  He is recipient of several awards for his scholarly work in international education, including the AIEA Charles Klasek Award for leadership in international education and the EAIE (European Association for International Education) 2014 Trans-Atlantic Leadership Award. He was Fulbright Senior Scholar to Australia in 1987.  He is also Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Centre for Higher Education Internationalization, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan.

Anmälan sker till stint.forum(at)stint.se eller Agneta Granlund 08-6711990 senast den 12 januari. Antalet platser är begränsat. Lunch serveras från 11:30.
