Scholarship holders 2006

Here follows a breif presentation of the scholarship holders within the STINT Scholarship for Academic Excellence Programme who began their studies in Sweden in 2006.

My name is Zhao Xi. I come from Kunming in China which is called the Spring City of China. Before coming to Sweden, I studied at the Department of Automotive Engineering at Tsinghua University in Beijing, where I developed a strong background in both automotive engineering and design. I decided to study at Umeå Institute of Design to learn advanced concepts and skills in automotive design. Also I want to widen my view of the country where automotive industry is among the most developed in the world, and find more opportunities to be involved in the cooperation with industries. I hope that one day my designs could be indeed what people really want, and that they will make life better and easier.

My name is Ding Li and I was born in Anhui and grew up in Henan province in China. I studied Architecture from 2001 to 2006 at Tsinghua University, School of Architecture. I am now studying Urban Planning and Design at KTH in Stockholm. The development of China’s urban areas is progressing very fast and professional instructions are in demand, so when I’ve finished my studies here I will go back China and join the construction of my motherland.

My name is Li Huaqing and my hometown is Jilin in the Jilin province. Before I came to Sweden I studied economics and physics as my double major at Peking University in China. I came to Chalmers to study nanoscale science and technology with the help of STINT Foundation. The devices and equipment are very advanced here so I hope I can go further on the way of detecting new phenomenon and also developing new theories of the micro scale science. I hope I can attend a PhD programme here in the future. I enjoy living in Sweden very much.
