On 7 April the STINT board decided on this years grants within the Institutional Grants Programme. Seven grants have been awarded at a total cost of 6.3 million SEK.
The following have received long term grants for international cooperation:
Niclas Karlsson, Medical Biochemistry, Göteborg University, 900 000 SEK for cooperation with Pauline Rudd, NIBRT, University College Dublin, Ireland, within ”Bioinformatic Platform for Glycodiscovery”
Lars Larsson, Department of Clinical Neurophysiology, Uppsala University, 1 million SEK for cooperation with Paul Gregorevic, Lab. for Muscle Res. & Therapeutics Development, Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute, Australia, within “Aging-related changes in skeletal muscle structure-function and specific intervention strategies: a translational approach”
Thomas Laurell, Department of Measurement Technology and Industrial Electrical Engineering., Lund University, 1 million SEK for cooperation with Soyoun Kim, Biomedical Engineering, Dongguk University, Korea, within “New translational biomarker tools for clinical diagnostics and therapeutics”
Peter Lazor, Department of Earth Sciences, Uppsala University, 1 million SEK for cooperation with Viktor Struzhkin, Geophysical Laboratory, Carnegie Institution of Washington, USA, within “Novel techniques for characterization of minerals and design of multifunctional materials”
Kristiina Oksman, Department of Applied Physics and Mechanical Engineering, Luleå University of Technology 900 000 SEK for cooperation with Paul Webley, Dept. of Chemical Engineering, Monash University, Australia, within “Bio Energy Research- from seed to advanced fuels and chemicals”
Rimvydas Vasaitis, Department of Forest Mycology & Pathology, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, SLU, 500 000 SEK for cooperation with Tod Ramsfield, Forest Biosecurity, Scion (New Zealand Forest Research Institute), within “Facing challenges to forest health imposed by climate change and globalization”
Dag Winkler, Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience - MC2, Chalmers, 1 million SEK for cooperation with Yung Woo Park, Dept. of Physics and Astronomy, Seoul National University, Korea, within “The physics and applications of graphene- and Josephson-junction devices”.
